With this vanilla latte recipe you can use store bought syrup or make the syrup at home with our recipe.

Vanilla Latte Recipe

  • 1 shot of espresso (or 1/2 cup of strong brewed coffee if you don’t have an espresso machine)
  • 1 cup of milk (whole milk, almond, soy, or any other milk of your choice)
  • 1-2 tbsp vanilla simple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • Whipped cream (optional, for topping)
Vanilla Simple Syrup
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 vanilla bean or 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  1. Vanilla Simple Syrup: a. Combine the sugar and water in a saucepan over medium heat. b. Stir until sugar is dissolved. c. If using a vanilla bean: Split the bean lengthwise, scrape out the seeds, and add both seeds and pod to the saucepan. d. Allow the mixture to simmer for 10 minutes. e. Remove from heat, discard the vanilla pod (if used), and let it cool. If you’re using vanilla extract, stir it in after removing the mixture from heat. f. Store the syrup in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
  2. Vanilla Latte: a. Brew the espresso or coffee and pour it into a mug. b. In a separate saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until it’s hot but not boiling. Alternatively, if you have a steamer or frother, use it to heat and froth the milk. c. Add 1-2 tablespoons of the vanilla simple syrup to the brewed espresso, adjusting according to your sweetness preference. d. Pour the steamed milk into the mug over the espresso and vanilla syrup mixture. e. Top with a dollop of whipped cream if desired. f. Give it a gentle stir, and your vanilla latte is ready to enjoy!

Note: You can always adjust the amount of vanilla syrup based on your sweetness preference. Some like their lattes a bit sweeter, while others might prefer a subtler vanilla flavor. This recipe is flexible, allowing you to create your perfect vanilla latte!
